Delilah Bon
Delilah Bon is the alter ego and solo musical project of UK artist Lauren Tate, known for her fierce, unapologetic blend of punk rock, rap, and feminist messages. Tate, also the frontwoman of the band Hands Off Gretel, created Delilah Bon as a way to explore her frustrations with societal expectations of women, body image, and the patriarchy. Her music, which she often describes as “brat punk” or “bubblegum punk,” combines aggressive punk instrumentation with catchy, hard-hitting rap lyrics. Delilah Bon’s songs focus on themes of empowerment, self-expression, and challenging gender norms, making her a voice for the feminist punk movement in the modern music scene.
Her self-produced debut album was well-received for its DIY ethos and raw, rebellious energy, garnering attention for her advocacy of body positivity, female empowerment, and the fight against harassment and sexual violence. Delilah Bon’s music videos and performances are often characterized by their bold visuals, which incorporate punk aesthetics with elements of hyperfeminine and alternative fashion, further emphasizing her message of subverting traditional gender roles.
